I've published a book.
Zoe's courage

I just wanted to write a quick post about my new book, Zoe's Courage: A Journey Overcoming Worry, published on Amazon.

In late November 2023, I was doing the usual school drop-off and was sitting in the car watching the birds scrap over some food in a nearby bin. A thought popped into my head: "What If birds had anxiety about flying?" - After all, this is fundamental to their existence, and if anxiety were to hold them back, how could they function as well birds?

Anxiety, to humans, can limit our ability to live our lives to the full and can hold us back from doing things we should be doing.

If you have been following me on this, you'll know that I live with Anxiety, so I decided to try and simplify some of the things that I have learned to try and live with it.

It is never too early to start discussing emotions with our children to encourage them and let them know it is okay to feel these emotions. This is where the book comes in.

The character Zoe is a bird who longs to do things the other birds take for granted - flying. As we go on the journey with Zoe, she learns perseverance, overcoming her "what ifs" and developing a resilience that allows her to fulfil her dreams.

Tested on my 6-year-old, the book is easy to read for a bedtime story and allowed us to have a discussion about
