Day 13: Digital Detox - The Key to Unwinding in a Wired World

Smartphones and Apps in particular fight for our attention, have you ever went on your phone to do something, and suddenly find you were drawn to a notification from another app and forgot to do the original task you set out to do?

In an era where our lives are intricately woven with digital threads, the idea of a digital detox can seem daunting. Yet, it's precisely this immersion in the digital realm that often heightens our anxiety levels. Taking a step back from screens and devices, even just for an hour a day, can significantly impact our mental well-being.

One of my favourite ways to manage my digital devices is to limit the notifications I receive. When anxiety is at its peak, constant flashing and pinging from electronic devices can easily overload someone suffering from anxiety. In addition, organising my apps to my most commonly used apps on the home screen reduces the time I have to scroll to find the application. Minor tweaks that made a big difference.

Let's delve into why digital detox is beneficial for alleviating anxiety and explore seven manageable activities you can try during your screen-free time.
